The Hague International Centre provides a one-stop-shop for international organisations and companies and their international employees. It is the first point of contact for (new) residents and has been created especially for the expatriate who is working and living in The Hague, Delft or Leidschendam-Voorburg.
Expedited service
The Hague International Centre offers an expedited service for highly-skilled migrants and their family members. Companies may already submit an application for a residence permit before the applicant arrives in the Netherlands. Once he has landed, the highly-skilled migrant will be invited to The Hague International Centre to complete all the formalities in a single visit.
The employee will be registered with the municipality and receive a citizen service number (burgerservicenummer/BSN), and be issued his residence permit from the IND, all during one appointment. This is called the one-stop-shop and takes about four weeks. However, it is also possible to choose the two-stop-shop option. This procedure is faster, but the expat will need to visit The Hague International Centre twice. The employee will be permitted to start working immediately after the first visit; the second visit is only to collect the residence card.

The Hague International Centre offers a welcome package to new arrivals and provides basic information on living in the Netherlands, including health care and education. The centre forms a point of contact between individual expats and the government. It provides information on the services provided by various municipal departments and national agencies.
